I didn’t know how much I missed Shopping until this pandemic started and well, yesterday I was so hyper. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen my mini Vlog. Seriously, I think I’m having shopping withdrawals. It’s just something I took for granted. Follow my Instagram account @startingtodayblog
I decided to go shopping in town (Newcastle- Upon- Tyne) for the first time in months. It was sad to see so many shops shut on Black Friday weekend, but I just couldn’t resist going for a wonder.
I didn’t realise how much I missed shopping until I stepped into the shop. As there wasn’t much open I went to Superdrug and got the new Revolution super dewy set. I couldn’t resist buying it. I’m going to try it out…
I also got some face masks for a bit of a pamper session, a hair mask, and some dye. My hair is definitely in need of some TLC and some work on the roots. My Mallen streak is starting to show.
My Mallen Streak
I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before but my natural hair has a Mallen streak, I’ve had it since I was 14. It just kind of appeared one day.
I used to wear it out but during my twenties more and more of my hair was loosing pigment and going grey.
Unfortunately it won’t take dye so I find the only way I can cover it up is by bleaching my hair blonde.
I bought my trusty ME+ CBD booster oil for my face. It’s great for skin problems like acne.
I also got my son’s birthday card because he’s about to turn 14! I just can’t believe it. It just doesn’t feel real yet. How is my little boy so old now?

A Coast With the Most
Then today we decided to go for a little walk along the sea front in Whitley bay. The weather was a bit grey but I think it’s kind of beautiful. I still have to pinch myself that we live here.

I love this necklace, it’s a little lock and key. I thought it was very apt for 2020.
We past a little food truck selling dinky doughnuts and waffles. I wouldn’t normally let my toddler eat some but she looked so hungry.
She stopped in her tracks, pointed at the food truck and started saying ‘ cake, cake’. She wouldn’t move until I bought her some. I thought it was so funny. She said they were yummy. That’s one of the best parts of the coast, there’s always something scrumptious to eat, it’s especially nice after a walk next to the cold seaside.

We’ve gone straight into tier 3 in the north of England so it looks like lockdown will be staying for a bit longer for us.
I’m really missing shopping and pubs. One of my favourite parts of Christmas is sitting in a cosy English pub with a fire roaring. I’m so sad that I won’t be able to get to do that this year.
I miss getting merry, but I guess I should be happy that we’re all safe. I hope you all are too.
Much Love,
Soph.
I never knew that a strip like that had a name! Now I finally have a tag for mine 😆
Sounds like a lovely haul 🥳
Yes it is a Mallen streak. How lovely to meet someone else who has one. My daughter is also called Zowie 😉 x
