Yesterday I went for a little stroll on Longsands beach in Tynemouth, it was absolutely freezing but beautiful all the same.
I thought I’d make it a proper English day out and order some fish and chips. Then I stopped off at a little place on the beach called The View, I’d recommend it if you’re in the area, although at the minute obviously it’s only serving take-outs. I got a cappuccino to warm up my hands. It was bliss.
That’s one thing I miss about working in coffee shops- the coffee! The job was fast paced and stressful at times, but it was worth it for the coffee, oh my.
It began my life long obsession with coffee. I don’t think I drink as much as I used to, in all honesty I don’t need it as much since I started my blog. I try to limit my intake now for health purposes, but one thing I am really missing through this pandemic is good coffee, so this was an absolute treat!
When I worked as a Barista we used to have a thing about being able to tell peoples personalities by what coffee you drank. When I discovered my partner was a cappuccino drinker it was instant love (yeah that was a really bad coffee pun).
Did you know that depending on what coffee you drink it can tell people what kind of personality you have?
A cappuccino for example:
If you’re a coffee drinker who enjoys the milky, foamy warmth of a Cappuccino, you are likely to be an optimistic individual. You can be a little sensitive at times (perhaps only when someone forgets to sprinkle chocolate on the top of your coffee?) Generally you are bubbly and love to make people laugh.
A flat white:
The short drink is associated with people who favour minimalism, routine and simplicity. A typical flat white drinker is a purist and a traditionalist who appreciates routine in their life. But this also means they might be a bit of a control freak. Oh no!
Who knows if there’s any truth in it but it used to keep us amused as Barista’s. It used to make those long shifts go quicker. So next time you order a coffee just know what that Barista is thinking about you… (I’m joking, I’m sure they’re just over worked and focused on what they’re doing).
My daughter loves the beach, just like her momma. I thought I’d take my camera out and get some photographs. I’ve been really focusing on building my social media platforms this month so it was nice to get my camera out and really focus on my blog for a change.
I didn’t realise that I’d spend so much time on social media when I started my blog, I almost feel like I need to hire a social media manager, ha! There really is so much work that goes into blogging isn’t there? Wow.
If you’d like to read what I’ve written on what I’ve learnt about blogging so far in these short three little months I’ll link it below.
I’m definitely beginning to believe in myself and my photography abilities. If people ask me ‘what do you do?’ I say I’m a blogger and a photographer and I love it! Although you usually get some strange looks.
I think that’s the thing about having so many stressful jobs in my twenties. I used to come home physically exhausted and tense. I was over worked and grumpy on my very little time off. The whole time I used to think to myself there has to be a better quality of life, somewhere, somehow…
My partner took this one of me and my daughter. I thought it was adorable. I just look so calm and relaxed. I guess it’s taken me until thirty to find that quality of life. If you’re like me and you’re thinking about blogging, my advice? Just go for it, you only live once.
At this point my daughters wellies were full of water. I asked her if she wanted to leave but she shook her head. She was having too much fun. The sea was absolutely freezing. We have a tradition in the north east where people actually swim in the sea on new years day! I can’t even imagine how cold that must feel.
We bumped into a cute little dog on the beach. Zowie loved it. They were chasing each other on the sand. She is just fascinated by animals. I’d love to get a dog one day…
Smiles all round.
My daughter’s little Minnie Mouse Hoodie is from H and M. It’s so cute <3
Finally I finished off the day with a nice warm cocoa, and my fluffy socks, it was so cold. Then I tucked into my beautiful chocolates from Hotel Chocolat. If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know how much I love this shop.

Anyway, I hope you’re all doing okay over the Holiday’s. if you’re back at work, try not to stress out so much. Life is so short. Take time out to take care of yourself….
