Well good morning all my lovely bloggers, it’s Valentine’s day. I had an early night last night, bed at 10 pm. What a luxury. I’m definitely in my thirties now, ha!

I woke up at 6 am and got a batch of pancakes on the go. I made them with maple syrup and bacon.

It was like being in America again. I went to Los Angeles some years ago, I can’t wait to go back. I was craving a bit of that Californian life so I went for an American breakfast.

I’m not vegan obviously, although I did go Vegan for a few years in my twenties, I was also raised as a Vegetarian by my mother (who is also a Vegetarian).

I started eating meat at eighteen when I left home and started training as a Chef. Crazy right?

Anyway, I still eat meat, but I am environmentally conscientious and I think that we can’t keep eating meat everyday and sustain the planet.

Plus I like a lot of vegan and vegetarian food, but occasionally I like to eat meat. This morning was one of those days.

They brought me back to one of those Diners on the corner and ordering a massive stack of American pancakes.

The portion sizes in America are way to big, but they do sort out those hangovers. If I wasn’t on a diet I would have washed it down with a strawberry milkshake, but hey, a black coffee was just as good.

Content For Valentine’s Day

So as part of the Share the love campaign, with design bundles I got crafting with a box of goodies, you can read all about that here:

I also got gifted this gorgeous lingerie from Tutti Rouge, it’s for ladies with a DD + the lingerie is really flattering and figure hugging, it comes with a really reasonable price tag. I would absolutely recommend them. If you’d like to see what the products look like on, don’t forget to add me on Instagram @sophieannmckeever you can read my review below:

I also did a 60’s style bedroom eye’s look, if you wanted to get really dressed up and go all out. I love how the eyeliner about your eyes makes them look bigger. It’s my new favourite look and, spoiler alert, it’s super easy.

60’s Style Bedroom Eyes

For all my lovely singles out there, I did a photography blog on feminism. I wanted to share my thoughts on marriage and why I’m so glad I didn’t get married in my twenties.

Rose of Thorns

I remember being a single mother for ten years and I used to hate Valentine’s day, I used to order Chinese food and watch horror films and would avoid going out in public anywhere, because the sight of people being in love made me feel nauseous.

Or I’d work in the kitchen preparing meals for the couples eating at whatever restaurant I was working at. The good thing about Cheffing was that I was never alone on holidays and it would be busy, which meant lots of hard work and I wouldn’t have to think about being lonely.

This year is the first year where I’ve really made an effort for Valentine’s day, I can’t work and everyone is unable to socialise so I think it’s made me want to celebrate it. I hope you’ve all enjoyed the content I’ve made. I’m not the most romantic of people. I’m still shocked I’ve found myself in love, but hey, if it happened to me, it could happen to you…

I hope you have the loveliest of days and may cupid’s arrow flow. Find each other, love each other and just believe you are enough because you are.

Much love,

Soph. (ex crazy chef turned romantic)
