We were spoilt last week with sunshine and a summer heat. It was just gorgeous, I had to sunbathe, some Vitamin D was really needed. I’ve been reading a lot about vitamin D recently, aka the ‘sunshine vitamin’. There really are a lot of benefits to the stuff so I decided to buy some.
I naturally feel much happier in the sunshine anyway, as I’m sure most of us do, but the more I read about vitamin D the more I think I want to start incorporating it into my diet. A pick me up would be most welcome.
I’ve been self employed now for six months, which is crazy, I feel like I’ve just clicked my fingers and six months have flown by. If you’d like to read about my journey blogging so far, and becoming a self employed Copywriter I’ll pop a link to that article at the end of this post.
Anyway, while I’m much less stressed in many ways (previously being a Chef) the sheer amount of learning and trial and error I’ve been through over the past six months has been phenomenal. As has the financial pressure to succeed. Being self employed is not for the faint of heart.
It’s left me a little burnt out so I just had to take a break and when the sun started shining well that was it, I had to go out and enjoy it…

Vitamin D is produced in the skin in response to sunlight. It is thought to be linked to fighting disease such as multiple sclerosis, the flu and even heart disease by improving circulation.
It also helps to fight depression. Which in turn can relive anxiety and panic attacks. I wish I’d know this years ago!
Something else that I found really surprising is that it helps to boost weight loss. There have been several studies into weight loss and it’s been found that people taking vitamin D supplements loose weight much faster.
Vitamin D available at Holland and Barrett.
Easter Sunday.
So we had great fun at Easter, I went for a BBQ at my parents which was a little chilly, but it was so amazing to spend time with my family. I Have missed them so much. We had Egg hunts in the garden galore, swing ball and trampolining. The kids loved it. They have missed their grandparents for sure.
The Easter bunny was generous this year. Although all of this chocolate, is not going to help my diet. I’ve decided I want to get back in shape so I’ve been working out everyday with aerobics, stuff I can do indoors, taking vitamin D supplements and trying to eat vegan wherever possible.

Something that amazed me was my parents home brew, over the past year and a half they have slowly become self- sufficient. They grow all there own veg and now they make their own beer and spirits.
It all looked so complicated but I am so impressed. I couldn’t help but have a pint of it. It was like a pint that you get in the pub, I had the Hoppy Copper, it was just gorgeous and the sunshine even came out for a little while.
Does anyone else make their own home brew? Let me know in the comments below…

Reunited, at last…
Finally yesterday we went for a little walk along the river with my partners family. My daughter was over the moon to be reunited with her big cousin.

If there is anything I have learnt over the past two years it’s that I am so lucky to have the family that I have. It’s made me appreciate my loved ones so much.
I guess we never really know what’s going to happen or what is around the corner but why not spend it loving those we care about and showing them that we appreciate them. I’m a lucky gal that’s for sure…
Did you all have a nice Easter? I hope so, what did you do? Let me know in the comments below…
