Ciao, and welcome to day 2 of #MyNovemberTakeover

My next guest post is by Maggie, she’s a northern lass that has been making keepsake memory bears for over nine years now. They are just the sweetest. They’d make a fantastic Christmas present for a loved one and are a unique and special gift. Enjoy!

Where it all began

Well, it all began with the birth of my first grandson Jace, when my daughter Carly asked if I could make her a bear out of Jace’s first baby grows.

Way back then I was working full time for a local council as a Children’s Center Area Manager, when redundancy hit and changed my career path.

I’ve always been interested in sewing, so I thought – why not give it a go! Little did I realise the pleasure that I could give to people by turning their special clothing into keepsake that they could treasure forever and help keep their special memories alive.

What I do

I have created many things from keepsake animals to christening gowns made from wedding dresses. Nothing is too big or too small for me to create a memory from.

I now have three funeral directors and a foster career who I now make keepsakes for on a regular basis and 4.1K followers on Facebook. You can follow me here.

If there is something specific that you want that I haven’t yet made, I source a pattern and trial it before I make your order to ensure a quality service at all times.

I’ve recently been asked to make some medical aids such as Mastectomy drain bags, Stoma bag covers and Peg Covers for children who are tube fed.

“This lady is nothing short of amazing … Letting go of my dad’s shirts was heart-breaking, knowing he’d never wear them again gave me such a heavy heart … However, Maggie transformed them into five beautiful memory bears for each of dad’s grandchildren … So pleased he can give them one last gift and fitting as he was the kindest man, I’ve ever met X Thank you so much xxx

Five stars is nowhere near enough I need a sky full xxx”

“I would highly recommend this service.  Seeing the bears moved me to tears (happy ones too).  They were done so quickly but made to perfection!  Amazing service I had three bears made too never been happier with a service until this one. Thank you so much.”

Safety Regulations

In view of the individual and bespoke composition of each bear/animal they cannot be CE approved and accordingly do not comply with any toy safety guidelines and are not deemed safe for use as a toy by Law.

They designed and intended for decorative purposes only.  I do use safety eyes and stuffing which complies with all fire regulations to make them as safe as possible.

Making Memories would like to acknowledge the use of Funky Friends Patterns for many of my creations.
