Step into an enchanted world at Alnwick gardens and explore the sights to see. We had great fun in Alnwick for my daughter’s birthday. We decided to visit the new Lilidorei attraction at Alnwick Gardens and it did not disappoint. This place was already a hit with my kids, but the new Lilidorei playground extraordinaire is an exciting adventure for all and I would really recommend a visit here for both kids and adults.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but that didn’t matter so much. Sun, rain, or snow Alnwick Gardens is always a show stopper thanks to the awesome foliage. Plus we came prepared with raincoats! There’s a fantastic range of plants for sale and I couldn’t resist buying a couple for my garden at the end of our visit. I thought this was a lovely souveineer.
We weren’t able to have our planned birthday picnic on the grass as the rain was completely lashing it down when we got there, but we had our little birthday picnic under the canopy instead and got to view the pretty fountains while we ate. You can bring home from food which I think is a nice touch. My son tried a Gyros from the food stand which he said was delicious and was reasonably priced! I’ve also tried the pizzas and restaurant food here and it’s all fantastic so it’s a good crowd pleaser and there is something for everyone and all budgets!
After we ate, we put on our raincoats and played on the little tractors, which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed, almost as much as opening her presents!

Next, we headed to Lilidorei, the exciting new attraction at Alnwick Gardens, we choose the 4pm to 7pm time slot. You’re allocated three hours here and I liked the late opening times. It means you could spend the whole day here. First exploring the castle, then gardens, don’t forget the poison garden tour, and finally finish at Lilidorei- a place which kids will love.
It boasts an expansive playground and magical castle full of twist, turns and slides. This place went beyond my expectations and really was a fun place to explore. There are also members of staff dotted around in the castle who are really friendly and happy to help. They really interact with kids and make this place extra magical. The performers are dotted around the place and are on hand to answer questions. They also sang happy birthday to my daughter and made her day really special which I was so greatful for.

Finally, you can get lost in the immersive experience of sound and have fun exploring the little huts. Don’t forget story time which is located near the end of the exhibit. You can also get involved with fun activities that they host throughout the day. For an adventure like no other, visit this mystical land. I can see this being a hit at Christmas!
Thanks for reading.
