It feels strange blogging again, I’ve travelled a lot this Summer, but I’m excited to be back! I had an awesome time at the end of September in sleepy Alcudia with the family. It’s been years since I visited Mallorca, but it certainly has it’s charm. If you’re looking for something relaxed, then Mallorca is a safe bet. It has fun filled activities for the whole family to enjoy and with short flights there and back it’s the perfect place to visit with kids.
The weather was really dramatic during my stay and I saw the most epic thunderstorm I’d ever seen on the first night, followed by 35 degree heat the next day. Spain never disappoints, while usually these extremes are unheard of, they still made memories we’ll never forget. We went for an all inclusive hotel near the old town of Alcudia, complete with a water park, and the kids totally loved it! View my Instagram for more.
Here are 5 Reasons why Mallorca is a good place to visit with kids…
1. Beautiful Beaches
Mallorca is renowned for its beautiful sandy beaches, many of which are family-friendly with shallow waters. Kids can enjoy building sand castles, playing in the water, and participating in various beach activities.
2. Family- Friendly Resorts
Mallorca offers a wide range of family-friendly resorts that cater to the needs of kids. These resorts often have children’s clubs, kid-friendly pools, and organized activities to keep children entertained.
3. Water Parks
Mallorca is home to several water parks, such as Aqualand and Western Water Park, which offer thrilling water slides, wave pools, and other attractions suitable for kids of all ages. These places can provide hours of fun for the whole family!
4. Adventure Activites
Mallorca offers a variety of adventure activities that are suitable for kids, such as mini-golf, go-kart racing, and sailing trips. These activities allow kids to engage in exciting experiences and create lasting memories.
5. Palma Aquarium
Situated in Palma de Mallorca, Palma Aquarium is an excellent attraction for kids. It features a wide variety of marine life and offers interactive exhibits, tunnels, and activities that allow children to learn about and get close to the underwater world.
Exploring the old Alcudia Town…
I loved this little sleepy town. It was soaked with historic details, complete with a Roman Wall that surrounded it, that you could climb along and explore. I loved the charm of the little boutiques and the Tapas was pretty awesome too! I’d recommend the Chorizo!

Finally, we had an awesome holiday in Mallorca, with some much needed sunshine. However, I must mention travel insurance! I was so relieved to have had this as on the last day, as my son had his laptop stolen. It’s so easy to switch off, especially when you’ve been on holiday for a week! We were so focused on the flight home, we didn’t notice his bag being taken. All I can say is that I was so grateful to have technology insurance as an add on with my AllClear policy.
Thankfully, there is a police department in Palma Airport where you can report your lost items, should this ever happen to you! However, a basic understanding of the Spanish language would go a long way, I was able to just scrape by with my basic Spanish language skills, and I mean just!
Anyway, having insurance really took the sting out of what would have been the worst ending to a holiday, ever. I thought it was worth mentioning as they’ve really been helpful in the aftermath and also if you do visit Mallorca with kids, keep a watchful eye on your belongings. Safe travels.
